What should I expect during my Yoni pearl detox?

During days 1-3 you may experience some mild cramping. During the detox process the herbs produce a pulling effect drawing the old blood and tissue or dead inner vaginal tissue from the uterus which may cause mild cramping. You may begin to see discharge or dead tissue or yeast during the process. THIS IS ALL NORMAL, HOWEVER.... If irritation increases please remove pearls. Remove pearls at the 72 hours (3 days) to ensure a full cleanse by finding the knot where the string is tied together and gently pull until intact yoni pearl is completely removed.  Some women insert their fingers to remove discharge or dead tissue. This is not recommended. Instead wear a pantyliner during and up to 3 days after detox to allow body to self-cleanse. Discharge may appear white like skin folds or yeasty ranging from white, yellow, pink, red, brown, red or black  ****Take pictures of discharge & dead tissues attached to pearls. **** Please send pictures to DyamondYoni20@gmail.com to be posted in reviews.

Pre-existing Medical Conditions/Questions about Products

Be sure to consult your doctor prior to use of any of our products. Be sure to read our product descriptions and product packaging prior to use to ensure you are using our products properly & are a good candidate for using them!

Are there any side effects to these products?

While yoni pearls do provide a lot of benefits, there are a few side effects to keep in mind. Remember, each person reacts differently, so it’s completely understandable if your body doesn’t respond in the same way as someone else you may know that is also using the yoni pearls.

While not too common, there are a few side effects that you should watch for you as you begin using these products, especially if using them on a regular basis.

During the detox process the herbs produce a pulling effect drawing the old blood and tissue or dead inner vaginal tissue from the uterus which may cause mild cramping. Also, because yoni pearls are inserted into the body rather than placed topically, an internal feeling of discomfort may occur. Sometimes, when your body begins to reject a foreign object within the body, it does so by cramping.

Since there is a new object essentially being placed in your body, your body may not take it well. It could be a specific herb that your body disagrees with or leaving the yoni pearls in too long can lead to an infection.

Pay attention to your body when trying anything new. Remember, nobody knows your body better than you! The sooner any infection is detected, the sooner you can begin feeling better with appropriate treatment by your healthcare provider!

May kill off good bacteria

While the yoni pearl can support your overall vaginal health, it can also kill off the good bacteria. Unfortunately, these powerful fighters don’t know the difference between the good and bad bacteria, and it’s the good bacteria that actually fights off infection, so this can leave your body defenseless against certain bacteria.

Inflammation is a common side effect when the body doesn’t enjoy any new product. If this occurs, simply remove the pearl and take a warm bath using Epsom salt or tea tree oil.

Are these products FDA approved?

As majority herbal remedies, these products have not been approved by the Food and Drug Administration. These products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. Achieve the full benefits of your yoni detox steam/bath by utilizing a steam treatment during the following times :

  • Two weeks before your period to  minimize cramping or bloating.
  • During ovulation. Not recommended during this time if you are trying to conceive
  • Within the first nine days after childbirth.
  • A few times during the year when experiencing menopause symptoms

While Yoni steaming can be practiced safely most of the time, there are situations when it should be avoided all together. This includes the following:

  • If an intrauterine device has been inserted such as an IUD
  • If you are being treated with medications for an active infection
  •  If there are any open sores or blisters

How often should I yoni steam?

Yoni steams are recommended two to three times per month as part of an overall self-care regime. Always steam during weeks in which you are not menstruating. Women who suffer from pain, bloating or fatigue during their cycle should steam two to three times before your period. If you are someone experiencing fertility challenges steaming is recommended once per week. For the postpartum, a yoni steam may be done three times per week for about four weeks to facilitate healing and toning of the uterus and vagina (please be sure there are no open wounds and that you are no longer bleeding). Women who are experiencing or who have passed menopause should steam at least three times per year for self-care regime but may steam more often.

Why isn't it recommended that women with an Intrauterine Device (IUD) do a yoni steam?

The herbs used in the yoni steams are intended to cause the uterus to contract and shed its lining. When an IUD is present, the risk is that this could cause the uterine tissue to shed or contract in such a way that it could dislodge or expel the IUD. For this reason, usage is not recommended.

Why should a yoni steam not be done during menstruation?

During menstruation, the uterus is in its natural process of shedding and releasing. Because this is already an intense, downward moving energy, the added stimulation of a yoni steam may cause heavy bleeding and excess material to flow out. Detoxing is better when the uterus is at a restful state.

Why should a yoni steam not be done during pregnancy?

Yoni steams encourage the uterine lining to shed any excess build up each month. During the detox process the uterus will contract and cleanse itself. This is not safe for during pregnancy and should be avoided. You should also wait at least 3 days after your period to use yoni steam if you are trying to conceive, to make sure that you are not pregnant.

For female reproductive organs to work properly, there needs to be proper blood flow in the body. Many times, women may have poor reproductive health due to common problems such as old blood, dead tissue, ovarian cysts, endometriosis, or other conditions that may affect the reproductive system.

Specific to reproductive health, vaginal steaming detoxes the womb and can help improve blood flow to the pelvic area, which can ultimately help prepare the womb for pregnancy
